About Us

Discover Isla Lawrie's World of Textile Design. Explore her expertly made products, made from the finest and most luxurious materials.

Isla spent the duration of her Master's Degree examining studies on the ways in which colour, texture and subject matter impact mental health and wellbeing. It is an issue she holds close to her heart. This has resulted in Isla's designs becoming bold, bright and uplifting.

She strives for her designs to help to make your home a personal sanctuary.

  • Background

Isla grew up in the west coast of Scotland where she delved into all things creative, spending all of her time playing various instruments and painting. As a young teenager she developed a pain condition that completely changed her life; affecting her ability to write, draw and play any instrument. However, refusing to let her pain win, she mastered drawing with the assistance of an electronic drawing tablet. This experience sparked her passion for hand-drawn, digital art and design.

  • Education

Isla studied at Heriot-Watt University's School of Textile and Design, located in Galashiels in the Scottish borders, where she obtained both an Honour's Degree and a Master's Degree in textile design. She specialises in hand-drawn, digitally printed textiles for interior spaces, but also enjoys designing for a variety of end uses. While studying for her Undergraduate Degree, Isla's pain condition worsened, forcing her to complete the remainder of her Honours Degree from home. This inspired Isla and ignited a passion for interior textiles and the impact they have on emotional health and wellbeing.

  • Inspiration

This new found passion for health inspired interior textiles, led her to return to university to obtain her Master's Degree, where she delved into the world of colour psychology and it's possible uses to improve concentration, mental health and general wellbeing.

Isla used her hardest challenge to inspire her to find a way to improve the lives of those feeling trapped in their own homes. Throughout the design process, she uses the results of studies on colour psychology and the effects that images have on the speed of healing after surgery, to create beautiful and bright interior textiles.

At our core we believe in the transformative power of artistic beauty on mental health and wellbeing. We strive to create bright and bold patterns to be used around the home, designed to inspire creativity, focus and an overall more positive mindset. It is our primary goal to enhance well-being through creativity.

  • Dreams

We have reviewed research into how colours and shapes, when used in interiors, impact the wellbeing of those surrounded by the designs. We hope to go on to use this knowledge to improve the lives of people who are suffering from debilitating disabilities and injuries that may make them feel trapped in their own homes.
